How do I organize my files and folders?
How to I upload files?-
The underlining idea is to simulate your standard Windows
point-and-click interface as close as possible. Below are instructions
on how basic organizing functions are performed:

Create a new folder :
- Click 'crreate folder' button and a popup screen will appear.
- Enter the desired Folder name and description for the folder.
- Click on 'Create' to create the new folder.

Move file to a folder :
- Mouse over a file you wish to move to a folder.
- You will notice a new set of icons appearing next to the filename whenever you mouse moves over it, just click on the folder-with-arrow icon.
- A popup screen will appear. Click the destination folder's name and then, click 'move file' to relocate the file to the new folder.

Rename a file or folder :
- Mouse over a file or folder you wish to rename.
- You will notice a new set of icons appearing next to the filename whenever you mouse moves over it, just click on the alphabet icon and change to the desired name.
- Click OK when done.

Create a new folder :
Can the system support multiple upload?- Upon logging in, you will notice an upload button on the top right hand corner of the page.
- Clicking on the upload button will bring up a pop-up window, where you can click on the browse button to select single/multiple files to be uploaded.
- Once the files to be uploaded had been finalized, click on the 'Upload now' button to start the uploading process.
- The upload is completed once the progress bar turns green.
- Click on 'Done' to exit the upload feature.
How to share files via email?- Yes, Multiple upload and batch upload are supported
Can I use this application to share files with non-members?- The are 2 methods to share files via email:
- You will notice a new set of icons appearing next to the filename whenever you mouse moves over it, just click on the mail icon corresponding to the filename to start sharing files.
- Tick on the corresponding checkbox located on the left of each file and you will find a new set of icons at the top (located just above the 'Parent Directory' link. Click on the mail icon and a popup window will appear, fill in the appropriate email address and description and finally, click on 'Send' to share the files.
Can I send and share files with multiple recipients?- Yes, you can share files with non-members via email.
How to manage my own workgroup?- Yes, type in the email addresses separated with a comma to send to multiple emails address.
How to invite members to a group?- Click on the group tab at the top most menu and click on the 'Group Options' on the top right corner.
- You can change the group properties by selecting the 'edit' hyperlink corresponding to each of the group.
How can I create a group?- Click on the group tab at the top most menu and click on the 'Group Options' on the top right corner.
- Click on the 'Add Member' hyperlink corresponding to groups which you intend to invite members to.
- Finally, tick on the desired members and click 'OK' to invite the member(s) into the group.
What is 'Private' group?- Go to the Manage Group section and click on 'New Group'.
- Enter the group name and description. To make this group private, check the 'Private' option.
Is there a limit to the number of groups a user can create?- Only members of the 'Private' group can access, share and download files available within the group's folder.
How do I share file for a workgroup?- Yes, the package which you subscribe will determine the limit of how many groups you can create.
How does a user request to join a group?- You will notice a new set of icons appearing next to the filename whenever you mouse moves over it, just click on the pin icon corresponding to the filename to start sharing files for the workgroup.
- From the popup screen, click on the group name which you want to share the files with. You will notice that the group's name will move up to the 'Unshare file with' category. You can click on the group under this category should you want to unshare the file afterwards.
How can I invite or add a new member to a group?- Click 'Group' tab and then, select 'Join Group' (top right side). You will a list of active group(s) with its details (description, creation date, owner's name, Private or not).
- To join a group, click 'Join' and an pop-up screen will appear. Enter the reason why you want to join the group and click 'OK'. An email will be sent to the group's Moderator for approval and you will be notified of the outcome.
How do I share file for a workgroup?- Only Admin and group moderator can add user(s) to a group. You first need to add the member to Virtual Storage. Once done, you will see the member's details in the Manage User section.
- In the Manage User section, locate the user you want to assign group to and click 'Add to group' in the Action column.
- Then, you will see a list of group(s) already created in the system.
- Check the group's name(s) you want to assign the member to.
- Once done, click 'OK'. An email will be sent to notify the member.

What will happen if a shared file (within a workgroup) is deleted?- No. There's no limit to the number of groups a user can create on Virtual Storage Workgroup Ultimate.
What if I lost my password?- If you have deleted a shared file, that file will also deleted from the workgroup's folder. That means, members of the group can no longer access the file. Be careful when you delete shared files.
What type of customer support is available?- Click on the forget password from the login screen. Then fill in your user id or email to retrieve your password if you have already registered.
What types of files can I store and share using Virtual Storage?- Each software license purchased does not entitle you to on-site support, installation, implementation, consultancy and training. VSC will charge separately for such value-added services. Please contact VSC for more details.
What's the difference between Admin and Member?- You can store any types of files on Virtual Storage system, from plain text to photo to video files.
Does VSC Online Storage offers automated file backup feature?-
A ordinary Member can only do the following:
- Send files via email
- Share files
- Upload, store and backup files
- Download shared files
- Create folders
- Create a new group
- Create a 'Private' group
- Join group

An Admin can perform the following functions:
- Send and share files
- Store and backup files
- Create a new group
- Create a 'Private' group
- Join Group
- Approve a new group (created by Members)
- Add and delete a group
- Add and delete user(s)
- Add and delete user(s) from a group
- Edit user details
- Edit group details
How secure is VSC Online Storage?- This feature is already planned for the future release and not available on this present version.

VSC Online Storage is very secure. Among the security features includes:
- Minimum 6 characters for password entry.
- Password is hashed with encryption key.
- Uploaded file will have no filename.
- All files are protected with ownership rights, thus unauthorized retrieval will be blocked.
